Since they lack a putative transactivation domain, the small Mafs behave as transcriptional repressors when they dimerize among themselves. However, they seem to serve as transcriptional activators by dimerizing with other (usually larger) basic-zipper proteins and recruiting them to specific DNA-binding sites. Small Maf proteins heterodimerize with Fos and may act as competitive repressors of the NF-E2 transcription factor. |

Western blot analysis of lysate from Jurkat cell line, using MAFK Antibody(Cat. #P32590). P32590 was diluted at 1:1000. A goat anti-mouse IgG H&L(HRP) at 1:3000 dilution was used as the secondary antibody. Lysate at 35μg.

Flow cytometric analysis of Hela cells using MAFK Antibody(green, Cat#P32590) compared to an isotype control of mouse IgG1(blue). P32590 was diluted at 1:25 dilution. An Alexa Fluor® 488 goat anti-mouse lgG at 1:400 dilution was used as the secondary antibody.
